Elect Who
Elect Who? was a nationwide campaign run in the lead up to the 2011 New Zealand General Election, where we interviewed over 100 election candidates from the primary parties on their views of climate change and policy solutions to create a zero carbon Aotearoa.
Through displaying the interview responses on the Elect Who? website, the campaign sought to help New Zealanders from all backgrounds make an informed decision about where parties and candidates in their electorate stood on solutions to climate change.
Election candidates were questioned on challenges such as economic development, transport, fossil fuel extraction, community engagement and New Zealand’s international stance on climate change policy.
Elect Who? aspired to show politicians that creating a zero carbon Aotearoa is important to young people and the current divisive political climate is not taking us there.
Creating a thriving and safe zero carbon Aotearoa by 2050 is the defining challenge for our generation and we are seeking bi-partisan solutions to create a brighter, safer and smarter zero carbon future.
