Solutions
The means to solve the climate and energy crises largely already exist. We cannot afford to wait for some magical techno fix, and nor do we need to. The barriers to taking action today are not technical. What is lacking is a clear sense of direction and urgency towards a zero carbon future, and the political will to implement the changes that are desperately needed.
The first step towards solving the problem is for our society and our political parties to acknowledge what is required to deliver us hope for a positive future: a credible climate plan with responsible targets, and a carbon pricing scheme that sees today’s bills being paid today. Generation Zero will campaign hard to see that our political parties face up to this reality.
We are the generation to oversee the profound transformation to a zero carbon world. Generation Zero is committed to finding workable solutions to the problems we face. Over the months building up to the election, we will be undertaking the research to show what is possible for New Zealand and putting forward a brave new direction for our country.
