Grassroots Support Coordinators : Lucinda Staniland and Jack Tolley
Lulu and Jack are the Grassroots Support Coordinators. Their job is to support all of our regional volunteer
crews with projects and campaigns, and to connect Generation Zero members with opportunities for training and upskilling.
Lulu became involved with Generation Zero in 2011 as Newsletter Coordinator and member of the Wellington crew. She instantly felt at home with the amazing group of people she met, and loves the how the community of Generation Zero supports her to take action around the issues she is passionate about. She grew up in Christchurch and Peel Forest and is currently completing her last year of a BA in Modern Languages and Religious Studies in Wellington. Her other loves include potlucks, camping trips, attempting to garden, yoga, and mountain biking.

Jack has been involved in Generation Zero since early July last year and co-coordinates the Grassroots Support Team with Lulu. Before moving to Wellington where he now studies, Jack grew up in Auckland for most of his school years. Supporting New Zealand’s largest city will be central to his role within Generation Zero.
Before immigrating to New Zealand, Jack travelled widely throughout Asia with his family, spending time in largely undeveloped regions of Nepal and major cities in Vietnam and Sri Lanka. These experiences underpin his sense of social and environmental justice.

Solutions Coordinator: Paul Young
Solutions Coordinator Paul is championing the research and policy aspects of the work that Generation Zero does. He coordinates teams working on projects and inquiries about Generation Zero’s campaigns, as well as working towards the creation of a zero carbon plan for New Zealand.
Paul is driven by the desire to see New Zealand truly fronting up to the huge 21st century challenges facing our crowded planet, and he wants to help grow a society and economy that places more value on the things that are really important to us. He grew up in Dunedin, where he stayed on until finishing his MSc in physics, studying ocean wave power. As one of the founders, he is stoked to be a part of the expanding Generation Zero crew, working to provide the detail on the solutions and policy that will help us create the world we want to live in. To keep himself sane he likes making music, making his body work, and indulging in good food, good beer and good lols with good friends.
